ÒI've scanned three photos of Olof that I took at his San
Francisco studio apartment in the 1970's.
In one of the photos he
is wearing a uniform shirt from his Army days. He left
teaching at Ambassador College in June of 1973 and within a couple of
months had joined the Army with a view to studying Russian and working in
military intelligence. Because he
had done missionary work in East Germany, a fact he disclosed at enlistment, he
could not be given the security clearance required. The Army honorably discharged him on this account about six
months after he joined.Ó
